Six Dimensions of Planetary Capacity: The Shadbala-Inspired Strength Index
Planetary strength is capacity, not character. This six-factor beta shows where support may exist—and where wise stewardship still matters.
Planetary capacity has more than one source. Position, direction, temporal fit, motion, natural baseline, and the surrounding contact environment can each contribute something different to the way a function becomes available.
The advanced appendix brings those dimensions together in a Shadbala-inspired six-factor Structural Strength Index. The name identifies the tradition that inspired its architecture while preserving the method’s actual scope. It is a transparent beta index rather than a claim of complete classical Shadbala.
It is a transparent beta index that borrows the useful organizing idea that planetary strength has several dimensions. Every included factor, weight, exclusion, and coverage limit should be visible with the result.
Why one number is never the whole story
We often speak about a “strong planet” as though strength were a single substance. In practice, capacity is contextual. Someone may have a powerful voice in public and struggle to use it in an intimate relationship. A person may possess natural discipline yet lose access to it when exhausted or afraid.
The six-factor index is useful because it interrupts the fantasy that one placement can summarize an entire planetary function. It asks which kinds of support are present, which depend on time, and which come from the surrounding contact environment.
The six disclosed factors
- Positional strength: a disclosed Uchcha-inspired principle that looks at position relative to an exaltation reference.
- Directional strength: a time-sensitive factor based on planetary direction in the chart.
- Temporal fit: a day/night factor that asks whether the birth occurred in the planet’s associated temporal condition.
- Apparent motion: a factor derived from the planet’s observed motion condition.
- Natural strength: a declared baseline assigned by planet.
- Contact environment: the transparent Structural Readings aspect environment around the planet.
That final factor is especially important to name honestly: it is not a claim to have reproduced classical Drik Bala. It uses the report’s own declared contact rules so the calculation remains auditable within this system.
How the factors become an index
Each factor is placed on a common working scale from zero to sixty and then combined using the weights disclosed in the appendix. Showing the contribution from each factor matters more than presenting an impressive final number. The reader should be able to see whether a result came from position, direction, time, motion, natural baseline, contact environment, or several forms of support working together.
The common scale is an engineering choice for this beta index. It is not a claim that the method reproduces the traditional units, subcalculations, or interpretive authority of a complete classical Shadbala assessment.
Six-factor audit guide
| Factor | Verify in the report | If unavailable | Interpretive guardrail |
|---|---|---|---|
| Positional | Reference position and factor contribution are shown. | Flag the calculation rather than estimating. | Position is one condition of capacity, not a promise of success. |
| Directional | Birth time supports the relevant chart direction. | Withhold and reduce coverage. | Do not infer confidence, ambition, or courage from this factor alone. |
| Temporal | Day or night status and contribution are printed. | Withhold when time is unknown. | Temporal fit is not emotional maturity. |
| Apparent motion | Motion condition and contribution are visible. | Flag missing astronomical input. | Motion is not moral momentum or life progress. |
| Natural | The declared planetary baseline is disclosed. | Do not substitute intuition. | A baseline is a model constant, not a personal grade. |
| Contact environment | Eligible LBLS contacts and their contribution can be traced. | Mark incomplete coverage. | This is not classical Drik Bala and must be labeled accordingly. |
| Final audit | Confirm factor coverage, the zero-to-sixty working scale, disclosed weights, exclusions, and beta status before interpreting the combined index. | ||
This is an audit guide, not a do-it-yourself scoring worksheet. The final index must come from the disclosed implementation and complete calculation record.
A lived example: strength that needs stewardship
Imagine that Mars receives substantial support across several factors. The person may have ready access to initiative, assertion, competition, protection, or decisive movement. That is capacity—not character.
In one life, this Mars becomes courageous advocacy. In another, it becomes constant urgency. In a third, the person has learned to suppress it because early expressions of anger were punished. The index can say that the function has structural resources. It cannot say whether those resources feel safe to use or what they have been taught to serve.
A healing reading might ask, “What would clean action feel like if it did not need to become aggression or disappear into compliance?” The strength score helps locate the resource. The person’s history reveals the conditions under which that resource can become trustworthy.
How missing time affects the index
Directional and day/night factors depend on birth time. When the time is unknown, those factors are withheld rather than filled with made-up precision. The report shows reduced coverage so a partial index cannot masquerade as a complete one.
Approximate times should also be treated with the same stability discipline used elsewhere in the report.
What “strength” means here
The index is designed to explore symbolic capacity and emphasis across several disclosed dimensions. It is not a score for character, worth, talent, emotional health, or spiritual development.
A stronger planetary function is not automatically conscious or constructive. A lower score is not a defect. The result becomes useful only when it leads to a grounded question such as: Where does this function have reliable capacity, and where does it need more deliberate support?
Lower strength is not an empty room
A less-supported function may develop through attention, relationship, practice, and life experience. It may also operate quietly rather than dramatically. The index should never be used to tell someone that love, courage, wisdom, imagination, or discipline is unavailable to them.
Astrological strength describes conditions inside a symbolic model. Human formation remains larger. We borrow capacities from communities, mentors, spiritual traditions, structures, and repeated choices. What begins as a tender function can become one of the places where a person develops the greatest compassion.
A protected role alongside the core score
The beta strength appendix cannot alter Gates, Pillars, relationship metrics, or recommendations. Keeping it outside the core scoring prevents an experimental layer from changing a product whose central method has different rules and calibration requirements.
This separation also makes comparison possible. A reader can see the weighted tropical chart, the structural map, and the Shadbala-inspired appendix as distinct lenses rather than one blended authority.
Best-practice checklist
- Call the method Shadbala-inspired, never complete or classical Shadbala.
- Print the six factors and their coverage.
- Disclose that the contact factor is LBLS-specific rather than classical Drik Bala.
- Withhold time-sensitive factors when the birth time does not support them.
- Keep the index outside core Gate scoring.
- Use the result to form a question, never to rank a person.
Transparency does not weaken an advanced method. It tells the reader exactly how much interpretive weight the method has earned.
A reflective practice
Choose one planetary function highlighted by the appendix and complete three sentences:
- “I can usually access this capacity when…”
- “I lose contact with it when…”
- “One structure that would help me use it more wisely is…”
Strength becomes meaningful when it is placed in service of a life, a relationship, or a responsibility worth carrying.
